From Casa Rural Sharíqua one reaches, within a few minutes in a radius of 20 km, picturesque villages that tell about history. The Arabic past comes to life in Vall de Almonacid, Almedíjar or Aín with the old town walls, the mansions decorated with the coats of arms and the castle ruins.

You can pass time in small museums such as the water and ethnological museum in Bejís or the art and history museum in Jérica, in the prehistrical caves of El Sargal in the nearby village of Viver or visiting one of the many Arab fortresses and old watch towers.

Only 10 km away from Jérica Segorbe - according to historians the roman Segobriga - invites you to go on a journey through history: as a well known bishop's seat with centuries of tradition the pretty district town offers above all important churches and church art, but is also very proud of the town wall preserved from the medieval ages, the towers, aqueducts and imposing castle ruins.

And of course excursions tempt you to buy traditional arts and crafts and typical products. Clay jugs and plates from Altura and Segorbe, artfully manufactured walking sticks from Almonacid, delicious ham, bread or sausage specialities from the region are only a few of the holiday memories with a lasting effect!
